1. The service
Batmail is an automated email assistant. Overnight, it reads email that arrives in the mailboxes you connect, evaluates it against rules you write in plain English, applies labels, performs the actions your rules specify (archive, star, label, forward, reply), and produces a morning roundup. Batmail currently supports Gmail accounts connected via Google OAuth.
2. Your account and responsibilities
- You must have the right to connect each mailbox you connect.
- You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
- You are responsible for the rules you write. When you create a rule with an action, including sending replies or forwarding email, you authorize Batmail to perform that action on your behalf whenever an email matches. Email sent by your rules is sent from your address and is treated as sent by you.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use Batmail to send spam or bulk unsolicited email, to harass anyone, to violate law, to infringe others' rights, or to probe or disrupt the service. Don't connect mailboxes you don't control. We may suspend accounts that do any of this.
4. Automated triage can make mistakes
Batmail uses AI to interpret your rules and your email. AI makes mistakes: an email may be mislabeled, archived when it mattered, or matched to the wrong rule. The morning roundup exists so you can review what happened: every decision is logged and reversible where the underlying action allows it. You should review the roundup regularly and not rely on Batmail as the sole safeguard for critical correspondence.
5. Plans and billing
Batmail is in early access and does not charge anyone today. There is no card on file, no subscription, and none of the plan limits below are enforced in the product: early access accounts get the full service on every inbox they connect, including the emailed morning roundup. The plans described below are the ones we intend to launch with, and we will email account holders before any charging begins.
- Scout is free: one inbox, in-app roundup, up to 25 triaged emails per day.
- Night Shift is $12 per inbox per month, with 1,000 triaged emails per inbox per month included and metered overage at $2 per additional 500.
- Colony is $39 per month flat for up to 5 inboxes and includes everything in Night Shift.
Once billing starts, paid plans will bill monthly in advance and overage in arrears, and you will be able to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time; cancellation stops billing at the end of the current period. We will give notice before any price change affects you.
6. Termination
You can stop using Batmail whenever you like: disconnect your mailboxes and delete your account, and your data is removed as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Batmail is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Batmail and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including missed emails, lost opportunities, or actions taken by rules you configured), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
8. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change to these terms, we will email account holders before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Batmail after a change takes effect means you accept it.
